A winner of several media awards and fellowships including the Clarion, Rosalyn Carter Fellowship for Mental Health Journalism, University of Southern California Annenberg National Health Fellowship, and others, she is an enrolled member of the Red Cliff Band of Wisconsin Ojibwe.
