Douglas Haynes is a freelance writer whose work has appeared in The Progressive, Orion, Longreads, and Virginia Quarterly Review. He is also the author of the narrative nonfiction book Every Day We Live Is the Future: Surviving in a City of Disasters, a cautionary tale of urban inequality and the climate crisis in Nicaragua.
