as has been happening forever, these people are willing to poison all the rest of the people, the waterways, the planet and air, all for whatever profit such destruction might bring them. we need to own our future. we need to have the world psychiatric associations acknowledge greed as a symptom of severe mental and social illness. only a sociopath would operate with such complete disregard for the people, other critters, and the whole planet around them. anyone in this mental condition should not be allowed to be in positions of power through which they might cause such destruction.

All the risk analysis that is being done is fine but may well miss the point of what can happen in the environment or with people. The larger system abhors what is “senses” as over population. So when these enhanced salmon do escape and breed, they may well out compete other salmon and other fish who eat similar foods. Response – new disease that could wipe out all salmon and effect other marine life as well. Impact of a newly create animal protein on humans – who knows. There could well be a sub-set of humans whose bodies would see the new cells as big time invaders. All this is the end result of profit seeking and not from wanting to better feed people and pets or care for the one earth we have to live on! FDA and folks like them need to make decisions with the idea in mind that they may have a direct impact on them or their families!
