		<description>Though I couldn&#039;t agree more with the idea that McD&#039;s has had an insidious and negative effect on the nation&#039;s health, I have to point out that this article, like many others on this general topic, ignores one simple truth: the parent has the choice to turn off the TV. There is nothing inevitable about kids being bombarded by television advertising. And although there&#039;s advertising around us in other forms all the time, the vast majority of the effect you&#039;re talking about here is through TV. By all means, let&#039;s recognize that McD&#039;s &amp; these other corporations are *not* looking out for our kids best interest, but let&#039;s also ask just a smidge more of the nation&#039;s parents too.</description>
