Disappointing to say the least. Too bad he could not have attended the entire conference, IAASTD report and all, and formed his own opinion--instead of what "poeple tell him." I'm not a big GMO fan: I think that they have been grossly overhyped and and have demonstrably failed to deliver on their supposed potential. But I do think it is ironic that Sec. Vilsack is being charged with not having an open mind, because he has not closed his mind to GMOs altogether. That being said, kudos to you for putting the question before him so succinctly. Sadly, they have some people fooled though. Perhaps if we had some campaign finance reform we wouldn't have politicians (on any side) so funded by these corporations to write policies to favor them.
