I've always wanted this to be implemented on top of hospitals or medical complex buildings. But I wonder if it would pose a sanitation threat? The vegetables could be used in the cafeteria... Those who are sick need fresh vegetables more than anyone-especially with the way they get fed now.

Awesome! Great use of space! Don't forget about take a plant to work day, if you can. This way if you are limited on sun exposure, you can take the plant to work and put it in a spot where it will get enough sun.

Regards,

Discussions of rooftop gardens always include recommendations about checking that the structure can handle the weight, but what about the water? I have a 20'x 12' garage that's begging for a garden but I haven't figured out what kind of membrane to use to keep water from invading and damaging the roof. I would be grateful for suggestions.
