What I don&#039;t understand is why we need to spend so much money on research when other countries (as you point out, such as Germany) have already banned the use of problematic pesticides.  Slovenia, Italy, France, and Germany have all banned neonicotinoids—a new class of pesticides that have been found in eucalyptus nectar a year after application at levels that will kill honeybees, and in apple trees after a standard application at levels that will instantly kill honeybees. I interviewed Rowan Jacobson (author of &quot;the Fruitless Fall&quot;) recently for my column in the Faster Times, and he says that most beekeepers believe neonics are the leading problem. 		<description>why, in all of the articles i read about colony collapse, do i not see mentioned the fact that bees are  also stressed out after having been shipped from country to country in order to pollinate fruit and nut trees? they are fed corn syrup to keep them sustained! how many diseases do they carry from one state, country, or province to another across the globe? where is the discussion on this topic?</description>
