Thank you for writing this article and exposing how one man has never wavered from his dreams and beliefs. I am married to Bill's son and thanks to Bill's passion and cooking talents - which he passed down to his son - about local, fresh, made-from-scratch food I went from being a vegetarian to being a meat loving carnivore.
The resurgence of local, natural meat and fresh produce is vital for the health and wealth of our communities. Thank you for your contributions and your own passion in reinstating this much needed lost tradition.

This is a great article, Tamar!
I'm Bill's daughter, Caiti... he had shown me the article before but I thought that I should personally voice my appreciation of you writing this article about my Dad. You're a great writer, by the way!
Thanks for writing!

I loved this story because I've met Bill in real life through my parents. (Bill's daughter was extremely attached to them at one point and they keep pictures of her when she was a little girl right beside their other grandchildren.) I can tell you from first-hand experience that Bill's meat was truly wonderful. I've eaten it many times and could taste the care with which it was preserved and prepared. I can also tell you that he was a quiet, unassuming man, and a true artisan, whom I respected a lot. Bill and my parents have lost touch over the years, but your article has inspired me to reconnect. It has also inspired me to watch his YouTube videos because I have much to learn I think.
